Kylie Minogue will be honoured with the JC Wiliamson Award at next month’s Helpmann Awards.
In recognition of Kylie’s “outstanding contribution to the Australian live entertainment and performing arts industry”, the award will be presented during the awards ceremony, held in Sydney at the end of next month.
“My deepest gratitude to Live Performance Australia for the JC Williamson Award,” Kylie said in a statement. “What an honour to be included in such incredibly talented and inspirational company. A moment like this makes me so proud to represent the Australian entertainment industry. As a country we have, and we nurture, extraordinary talent. Long may this continue! I would also like to thank all my fans who have supported me for so many years and encouraged me to become the artist I am today. They have all played a role in helping me reach this special moment.”
She also congratulated Festival Of Perth’s David Blenkinsop, who’ll be honoured alongside her.
The 13th Helpmann Award will be presented at the Sydney Opera House on Monday July 29.

Congrats Kylie! Such a great live performer – often not acknowledged/recognised nearly enough by Australian media.
