If the opening shot in the clip below looks a little familiar to our readers in the Western Australian capital, it’s probably because it’s filmed in the hometown of The Arsonist, a Perth-based outfit who are about to take a big step towards national recognition with their single ‘Breakdown’ hitting national media later this morning.
The four piece came together in 2011 after friends Louis Rendle-O’shea and Nic Di Lena decided to create a new pop-leaning outfit. After roping in bass player Tim Collins and Karnivool’s drummer Steve Judd, the band was born and embarked on their wonderful adventure.
‘Breakdown’ is lifted from the band’s ‘Disguises’ EP, which was released back in September. It’s an uptempo piano-based pop number that we reckon would go down a treat in the live arena. Seems there’s a lot to like on the streets of Perth.
