• After impacting the ARIA singles chart over the weekend (albeit in the lower half of the top 100), Universal has moved quickly, servicing Redfoo’s single ‘I’ll Award You With My Body’ to Aussie media this week. The singer, one half of the resting LMFAO, will appear on the re-jigged judging panel on the new season of ‘The X Factor’, airing on the 7 Network later this year.
• Redfoo’s single is a highlight in an otherwise quiet week for new music at media, with Duck Sauce’s ‘It’s You’, a remix bundle of Avicii’s iTunes stormer ‘Wake Me Up’ and The Kin’s ‘Get On it’ among the highlights. As always, we’ll bring you a more comprehensive look at the tracks serviced to media this week over at our FACEBOOK page tomorrow.
• They might have originally debuted at No.1 on the ARIA albums chart over the weekend, but “due to a data error discovered after initial publication” on ARIA’s part, country duo Troy Cassar-Daley and Adam Harvey have been stripped of their No.1 spot, with Kanye West’s ‘Yeezus’ ascending to the top spot. In a statement on ARIA’s website, they say “ARIA takes the calculation of the weekly Charts very seriously, and aims to provide the most accurate information to both industry and fans alike. On the rare occasion an error is made, we move as quickly as possible to have it rectified. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
• Plenty of tour announcements this week too; Snakadaktal (pictured) have revealed a number of August and September dates for their ‘Sleep In The Water’ tour. Dates are locked for New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western and South Australia, with tickets on sale this Friday.
• The Cult will bring their ‘Electric 13’ tour to Australia later this year. Four dates are locked in – one each in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth – but Frontier’s tour announcement suggests that tickets will go on sale either on Monday July 01 or Thursday July 04. Take your pick!
• The folks at Victoria’s Queenscliff Music Festival has announced this year’s line-up. The November 22-24 event will feature John Butler Trio, The Living End, Spiderbait, Busby Marou and many more.
• Irish outfit Ash will visit Australia in late August to perform their classic album ‘1977’ in three very special live shows. They’ll play The Metro in Sydney on August 20, The HiFi in Brisbane on August 21 and Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on August 22.
• US R&B star Robin Thicke notches up a fourth week on top of the British singles chart with his worldwide smash ‘Blurred Lines’, holding off a strong challenge from Jason Derulo and his new single ‘The Other Side’, which debuts at No.2. Dizzee Rascal’s new single ‘Goin’ Crazy’ with Robbie Williams is in at No.5 and Tom Odell’s new single ‘Another Love’ premieres at No.10.
• The new Kanye West album ‘Yeezus’ premieres in the No.1 spot in the UK, knocking Black Sabbath’s ’13’ into position No.2 ahead of a No.3 debut for Kodaline’s ‘In A Perfect World’. J Cole’s new album ‘Born Sinner’ and the new Sigur Ros LP ‘Kveikur’ are the other top ten debuts – at Nos.7 and 9 respectively.
• And another reminder that with ARIA’s new publishing time of 7pm AEST Saturdays, our very own Chart Watch publishing time has also changed – to 7pm AEST Saturdays.

Hey Anonymous,
They’re on hiatus as of September last year.
“Well, you know, we’ve been working as LMFAO for so long, and you know we’ve been working on a lot of other projects as well. And so I feel like our creative paths, we need to kind of realize these projects we’ve been working on. And it’ll free up our minds and stuff to be able to take on another LMFAO project because the next one we do it’s got to be that like amazing, amazing crazy album and stuff like that. It’s kind of like, let us get our wind up, let us kind of show the world who we are as individuals and then we come together stronger than ever.”
