Gorgeous Melbourne songstress Owl Eyes released her rather fab debut album a couple of months ago and though its musical contents are apparently far too out there for commercial radio to get its collective narrow mind around (they’re not), she and her label are pushing on unabated with the next single – and title track.
Single ‘Closure’ was an absolute stunner, borrowing riffs from Fleetwood Mac’s brilliant ‘Seven Wonders’ and ‘Everywhere’ to create a song that was at once familiar, but oh so fresh and new.
‘Nightswim’ also has that ’80s pop familiarity to it, but the tempo is taken down somewhat to give a sexy, sultry feel.
Said feel carries over to the official video which features a pool that’s somehow alive and desperate for attention, motioning for a young man to plunge into its cooling waters. And it does everything within its power to get him wet. But will he fall for the pool’s tempting ways or back away before it’s too late?
