Universal Music has confirmed the forthcoming release of the new Sting LP ‘The Last Ship’ for Australia.
To be released in a variety of formats, the new album borrows its name from Sting’s forthcoming play and set to explore “the central themes of homecoming and self-discovery”, harking back to his days living near a British shipyard. Ahead of the play’s debut on Broadway next year, the album is due for release in September.
And super fans might want to start saving their pennies, with a number of different physical options being made available.
There’ll be the standard 12 track physical CD release, a 12 track vinyl edition, a 17 track double disc deluxe version and a super deluxe edition which will feature 20 tracks on two discs housed in special collector’s packaging.
‘The Last Ship’ will drop at retail locally on Friday September 20.
