Live Nation has late this afternoon confirmed that Frank Ocean’s remaining Australian dates have been cancelled due to illness.
The singer sought medical advice following last night’s show in Melbourne and doctors confirmed that he had “suffered a small tear to one of his vocal chords”. He’s been advised to rest for the foreseeable future.
As such, tonight’s show in Melbourne, along with his two dates in Sydney early next week will now no longer take place.
The cancellation also affects his appearance at this weekend’s Splendour In The Grass.
Organisers of Splendour In The Grass said, “With Splendour already in full swing this is devastating news for the event and will be for many of our patrons. We do want to remind everyone that over 70 of the best acts in the world right now are still here and ready to go including our previously billed mystery band, Alt-J.”
Patrons are asked to seek a refund from the point of purchase, with online credit card purchases to be automatically refunded.
