As we revealed on the site recently, Mister Shane Filan is the first member of Irish boyband Westlife to go solo following the demise of the group in the middle of last year.
His debut single ‘Everything To Me’ will be released in Britain at the end of next month and in the natural pop order of things, following on from a lyric video earlier in the month, here is the official video!
‘Everything To Me’ sounds extraordinarily familiar… like a cross between a Jason Mraz and James Blunt song, with Shane’s vocals in particular sounding exceedingly Blunt-esque. The clip even follows the same flight path as that of Robbie Williams’ ‘Bodies’, spending time in an aircraft boneyard.
That it is familiar could work in two ways… the British public will lap it up in spades OR they’ll view it as entirely derivative and deliver chart disappointment. Place your bets, folks…

Hey Anonymous,
We tossed up whether to do that or not, but given Brian hasn’t been a member of the band for nine years, we chose to ignore him on this occasion…
