We’re admittedly a little late to the party with the video for British trio Stooshe’s new single ‘My Man Music’, but we were waiting patiently for the trio to reveal the single’s official cover image (pictured). That now done, here IS said official clip for the band’s fifth release.
There’s a definite reggae vibe infused through this track, which takes the girls in a slightly different musical direction from previous single ‘Slip’. But whereas ‘Slip’ took the girls back to their infectious cheeky British beginnings of ‘Love Me’, ‘My Man Music’ to us feels almost like one of those novelty hits that pops up every now and again, smashes the No.1 spot and then relegates the act to the pop wilderness forevermore.
We want so desperately to like Stooshe… we really do. But they’re a little hit and miss with their singles. ‘Love Me’ and ‘Black Heart’ were great (especially the former), the less said about their woeful, ill-advised cover of ‘Waterfalls’ the better and ‘Slip’ was fun and catchy. ‘My Man Music’ might be a grower, but after just a couple of listens, we’re already finding ourselves screaming ‘NEXT!’.
