While we absolutely love bringing you the latest and greatest from some of the world’s biggest pop artists here on auspOp, what we love more about being here is the ability to bring you news about exciting local, unsigned artists whose product is so solid that you wonder why they haven’t been snapped up by a major label.
16 year old Melbourne songstress Rachel Costanzo with her debut single ‘Blindside’ is one such example.
The track was co-penned by Aussie favourite Michael Paynter and Michael DeLorenzis from MSquared Productions and, as you’d expect coming from such a strong pop pedigree, is pretty special. Put plainly, if Rihanna’s name was on this, it’d currently be in the ARIA top five.
Though Rachel’s still in high school, she’s been acting, appearing in TV commercials and studying music and theatre. So along with crafting a solo pop music career, it’s clear she’s determined to put in the hard yards to ensure success.
And if she keeps releasing songs like this, she’s well on her way.
