Those brothers Hume of pop band Evermore fame have released a brand new single entitled ‘One Love’.
But as you can tell by the cover, this is one song with heart, as all proceeds from the sale of the track go directly to two charities (the Global Poverty Project and the Cotton On Foundation) to help aid their work in providing assistance to some of the most impoverished and disadvantaged people on the planet.
Evermore will also take to the stage as part of this year’s Global Citizen Festival, which kicked off in New York last year (the inaugural event), where more than 60,000 fans packed the city’s famous Central Park to see live performances by the likes of Foo Fighters, The Black Keys and Neil Young.
This year it’s the likes of Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, John Mayer and Kings Of Leon lending their considerable weight to the cause to end extreme poverty. But this year’s event will be run simultaneously in both New York and Melbourne, where live footage of the New York performances will be interspersed by performances by some of our own brightest, Evermore among them.
The concert is set to take place on Sunday September 29 at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
Here’s a little teaser of the campaign to get your appetite whetted;
