The boys from Brighton are back! One of the most successful dance acts on the planet over the past ten years, Russell and James of Freemasons fame have lent their remix talents to everyone from Beyoncé (repeatedly) to Kelly Rowland, Faith Evans, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Luther Vandross, Jamiroquai, Whitney Houston and our own Kylie Minogue.
But they’ve also shuffled out their own dancefloor nuggets like the blisteringly good ‘Rain Down Love’, their cover of Alanis’ ‘Uninvited’ and the excellent (albeit overlooked) ‘Nothing But A Heartache’.
Now they’re back with ‘Tears’ – another instant club classic featuring the vocals of serial collaborator Katherine Ellis. And they’ve created their own lil’ video to boot.
A series of images featuring Katherine on a TV screen seemingly kick off in their own backyard in the south of the UK before venturing further afield… they’ve even popped a little imagery of our famous ‘coathanger’ in there.
There’s something instantly familiar about ‘Tears’, but when it comes to Freemasons, that’s certainly no bad thing. It’s released globally today.
