British soul/pop songstress (and former ‘X Factor’ starlet) Rebecca Ferguson will release her sophomore album ‘Freedom’ in early December.
The singer made the announcement on her Facebook page earlier this evening, confirming the name and release date of the album that will follow up her critically acclaimed debut ‘Heaven’ back in 2011.
Once again, Rebecca has co-written every track on the new LP and she’s done so with some of the best in the business including previous collaborator Eg White, Toby Gad, Mr.Hudson and Jarrad Rogers, with whom she penned five tracks.
“Since the release of ‘Heaven’, so much has changed in my life,” Rebecca said in a statement. “I feel like I’ve learned more in the past two years than in the rest of my life put together and this is reflected in the music on this record. I’ve put my heart and soul into it. If it’s passionate, vulnerable, soulful and raw that’s because everything I’ve gone through when making the record has driven the music and lyrics. I’m not someone who can just go into a studio at any time and just create – I need drama and passion. If the first album was a collection of great songs, this new album is more of a coherent statement. I’m excited again!”
Further details about the new LP (including tracklisting, cover image, first single and presumably an Australian release) will be forthcoming soon.
But ‘Freedom’ will see the light of day in Britain on Monday December 02.
