Fans of Latino superstar Gloria Estefan won’t have to wait long to get their mitts on new material from the singer, with Sony Music confirming the local release of her new covers set ‘The Standards’ early next month.
The new collection brings together songs from the ‘Great American Songbook’; classic singles from the ’20s through to the ’50s that have inspired Gloria throughout her almost 40 year career.
It includes Gershwin’s ‘They Can’t Take That Away From Me’ and Dinah Washington’s ‘What A Diff’rence A Day Makes’, as well as a cover of Charlie Chaplin’s ‘Smile’ sung in both Spanish and Italian alongside Laura Pausini.
‘The Standards’ will be released in Australia on Friday September 06.
