Though his publicists sent through details about the release of Hayden James’ debut self-titled EP early this month, we decided to wait ’til today to bring it to your attention, because a) it’s out today and b) it’s incredible.
The Sydney singer songwriter first attracted our attention in the middle of June, when his single ‘Permission To Love’ has notched up an impressive 120,000 listens in the space of six days. Two and a half months on, that number has climbed to over 400,000, so it’s clear there’s plenty of interest in Hayden’s sensual, sexy down-tempo future-forward pop.
And we’re glad to say that the EP is very much a case of “more where that came from”, with a collection of five future-pop nuggets, including aptly-titled opener ‘Beginnings’, the spectacular ‘Permission To Love’ and the warming ‘Embrace’.
Like Flume before him, we can only predict massive things for this young man. And this incredibly special five track glimpse into his seductive world of down-tempo grooves points the way to one hell of an exciting future.
