A host of Australia’s most enduring performers have come together to lend their voices to a brand new compilation album that pays tribute to the songs of legendary Melbourne rock outfit Hunters & Collectors.
In much the same way artists did for the successful ‘He Will Have His Way’/’She Will Have Her Way’ Crowded House compiles, the likes of Birds Of Tokyo, Paul Kelly, The Living End, Something For Kate, Matt Corby and Missy Higgins all feature on the new 30 track album, to be released next month through Liberation Music.
‘Crucible : The Songs Of Hunters & Collectors’ will not only feature the 15 cover versions, but the 15 original versions by the band to boot.
Birds Of Tokyo take on ‘Talking To A Stranger’; Matt Corby and Missy Higgins duet on ‘This Morning’, The Rubens are all over ‘Holy Grail’, Something For Kate tackles ‘When The River Runs Dry’ and even The Avalanches get a look in with their remixing duties.
‘Crucible : The Songs Of Hunters & Collectors’ will be released on Friday September 27.
