British girl group The Saturdays have minutes ago lifted the lid on their brand new single ‘Disco Love’.
The track received its heavily promoted first play on London’s Capital FM at 5pm AEST today, ahead of its release to YouTube, where fans from across the globe can stream it in full.
‘Disco Love’ is incredibly pop and seems to suggest that the girls are intent on having fun with their new record, if this and their previous single ‘Gentleman’ are anything to go by.
But even though ‘Gentleman’ missed the UK top ten (one of only three of the girls’ songs to do so), staggeringly their label is still insisting on making their fans wait for almost two months to buy it. It’s out in Britain on October 06.

RE: the delayed release in the UK. They take at least 6 weeks to promote the single until it comes out. They (not the Sats in particular, but some other artists) tried other stragegies like “on air – on sale” but it seemed that this didn’t work like the record labels wanted to. They say it will sell better if you have at least 6 weeks to promote it. I found that strange too, but it turned out they were right. The music does sell better with that kind of promo. Maybe Australian record labels should follow suit, and if they did maybe there wouldnt be as many under performing singles from their roster of pop acts.
