Well which ’70s disco phenomenon will be touring Australia later this year, armed with their catalogue of feel-good anthems? Why c’est Chic, of course!
From the heady days of disco in 1977, the band repeatedly peppered global charts with their funk-filled tracks like ‘Le Freak’, ‘Good Times’ and ‘Dance Dance Dance’, while founding member Nile Rodgers wrote and produced a string of hits for other artists throughout the ensuing years, including ‘Upside Down’ and ‘I’m Coming Out’ for Diana Ross, the Sister Sledge classics ‘We Are Family’ and ‘He’s The Greatest Dancer’, Madonna’s ‘Like A Virgin’ and David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’.
We’ll all bow down as Nile Rodgers & Chic hit our shores in December for a series of dates across the country, kicking off with an appearance at the Subsonic Music Festival in country New South Wales and also stopping by for a visit to Aunty Meredith.
