Bursting onto the scene via last year’s season of ‘The X Factor’, Nathaniel Willemse quick established himself as a fan favourite through his cover versions, including of Beyoncé’s ‘Love On Top’.
Post the programme, however, things have been a little quiet for the affable former South African, but that’s all about to change, with his debut single ‘You’ ready to fire.
Co-penned by the chaps from production team DNA (Hi David, Hi Anthony!), the track has been described as “a synthesis of R&B, pop, funk and rock” that showcases Nathaniel’s undeniable talent.
“‘You’ has been a masterpiece in the making and I’m excited beyond words to finally announce my debut single. Thank you so much to my fans for their ongoing support! Without them, this wouldn’t have been possible,” the singer said.
Available to pre-order now, ‘You’ will be released by Sony Music on Thursday September 26.

Had to chime in… This is Series 5 of The X Factor in Australia. Random were the winners of series one & had a top 10 single with Put Your Hands Up.
DNA are hit & miss, still personally undecided. Reality music shows are more slanted towards television ratings now.

reesieboi – sony are only signing a very select few of the runner ups from x factor (none from Altiyans year, only Johnny from reece’s year and the collective from samantha’s year) so you cant really compare it to the australian idol days. Also this years x factor is no where near done yet so your comparison is really skewed.

Hey Reesieboi,
No, Sony has the rights to all of the ‘X Factor’ contestants as they leave the competition and Sony also signed DNA to a deal recently to produce for their acts.
A lot of Sony’s younger/pop artists do, therefore, have their tunes produced by DNA…

Have The X Factor hired DNA to just do everything for all for their bloody contestants?
Maybe they should look at that as the reason hardly any former contestants have had hit songs. Altiyan Childs, Reece Mastin, The Collective and Samantha Jade have had top 10 hits and thats it. Out of 4 seasons of the show so far.
I think after 4 seasons of Idol, they have maybe 10-15 top 20 artists and a butt load of #1s??? Just sayin…
