‘Britain’s Got Talent’ favourite Susan Boyle will return later this year with her fifth album in four years – and her second collection of Christmas favourites, following on from 2010’s ‘The Gift’.
The new LP, entitled ‘Home For Christmas’, will comprise 12 new recordings of a range of festive staples, including ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’, ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’, ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’ and ‘The Lord’s Prayer’.
Also included are three duets – with The Overtones on ‘Little Drummer Boy’, with Johnny Mathis on ‘When A Child Is Born’ and with Elvis Presley on ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’.
The duet with The King is the first time a British artist has released a posthumous duet with the ’50s legend.
“Christmas is still my most favourite time of the year, I have fond memories of family Christmas’ growing up,” Susan said. “To be able to put a unique twist on classic Christmas songs is truly wonderful.
“To sing with Elvis, well I didn’t think it would be possible, isn’t technology brilliant. I grew up with Elvis playing in my home. My father was a huge fan, so to be able to duet with Elvis on a track on my own album, well, my father would be so proud. This song is for him and his love of Elvis.”
