Though ‘X Factor’ winner Dami Im’s impact on the Aussie iTunes chart was virtually instantaneous after taking out the Grand Final on Monday night (chart historian Gavin Ryan tells us Dami “could land at the top spot this coming weekend”), her single ‘Alive’ has also been doing rather nicely beyond our borders, particularly in South-East Asia.
Dami seems to have piqued the interest of pop fans in several Asian counties, with ‘Alive’ doing nicely on a number of iTunes charts throughout the region, most impressively in Singapore.
As we publish, the single is sitting at a highly respectable No.13 on the Singaporean iTunes chart, with plenty of other Asian territories not far behind.
In Malaysia, ‘Alive’ is sitting at No.21, it’s No.31 in the Philippines, No.46 in New Zealand. In Thailand it’s at No.69, in Hong Kong at No.70 and in Indonesia at No.94.
With no iTunes store in Dami’s native South Korea, it’s difficult to gauge reaction there, but no doubt its release in the 11th biggest music market in the world will be met with great enthusiasm.

Bahahaha. I love that New Zealand is just randomly slipped in with the “Asian” countries
