Geri Halliwell. Hands down our favourite of all the Spices. We own every physical single and album she’s ever released, since the altogether feisty ‘Look At Me’, the cheeky ‘Bag It Up’ and the disco goodness of ‘It’s Raining Men’. Fans? Yes, absolutely. But sadly not of this.
We’re pretty sure that ‘Half Of Me’ is one of those songs Geri circa 2001 would have turned her nose up at even as a b-side (how good was ‘Brave New World’ on the ‘It’s Raining Men’ b-side!?).
It’s literal in its lyrics (Geri’s been quite upfront about that), but a few trumpets and a fun (if not simple) video that has the ginger one’s styling mitts all over it can only go so far.
We’re after a new Geri single with a whole lot more… what’s the word…? Spice.

It seems she may have too many ‘yes’ people around her

Geri’s always been my fave Spice, but I agree, this song is just so bland. It sounds like an S Club 7 reject! I’m sure she could have done heaps better. We need another Bag It Up!! Bring back the sass and cheekiness, Geri!

So correct! This is just flat out lazy and a bad attempt to get sales from the publicity of her being on Australia’s Got Talent.
The trumpets signaled something epic was to come but it never happened.
I really want to know what happened to her full voice because it sounds like she’s squeaking out this song…bleh!
