We’re pretty sure the current Russian administration would be non too pleased with the exploits of former pop duo t.A.T.u. had they unleashed their 2002 No.1 smash ‘All The Things She Said’ today, what with the girls kissing each other in the official video.
But that was then and this is now. And former t.A.T.u. bandmember Lena Katina is all grown up and has headed from the cold Russian winters to the sunny shores of California, where she’s embarked on a solo career.
Her first single (2011’s ‘Never Forget’) got her noticed – and topped the US Club/Dance chart and she’s hoping to do it all over again with her recently-released new single ‘Lift Me Up’. Spookily, in the official video (below), she bears more than a passing resemblance in some parts to Geri Halliwell, who previously had a ‘Lift Me Up’ of her own.
It’s a confident little pop track, bouncing along nicely with a sweet little chorus and a summery video that has you wishing you were in her shoes. And smashingly, Lena’s released it globally, meaning it’s waiting for you in the Aussie iTunes store now.
