British singer Aiden Grimshaw never really struck us as ‘The X Factor’ kinda guy. He always seemed a little out of place on the British version of the global reality hit, where he was mentored by Ms Minogue in the 2010 edition. He auditioned with Kanye’s ‘Gold Digger’, performed Bassey’s ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ and tried his hand at John Lennon’s ‘Jealous Guy’.
Having subsequently released moderately successful chart offerings including his debut album ‘Misty Eye’, Aiden is back, has lost a surname, picked up a snake and is rocking a striking new almost androgynous look.
Brilliantly, he’s also rocking a new electro-pop sound via the single ‘Satisfy Me’ that’s been co-written and produced by Dimitri Tikovoi, who’s previously worked with the likes of Goldfrapp and Charli XCX. It’s very British, very pop, very new. We like.
‘Satisfy Me’ will be released as part of the forthcoming ‘Aiden’ EP on Tuesday November 26; with any luck Australia might just get a look-in this time around.
