• They may have dumped our asses when it comes to their co-headlining national tour, which was cancelled this week, but that won’t stop Pitbull and Ke$ha from trying to have another mammoth hit in Australia. Pit’s new single ‘Timber’, featuring Ke$ha, was serviced to national media by Sony Music late this week, but there’s no mention just yet of his next album, which is rumoured to see the light of day early next year.
• Gorgeous Brisbane songstress Emma Louise will no doubt leave global audiences wanting more, with a live stream of her Sydney Opera House show later tonight. She’ll be ‘Live At The House’ from 9:30pm AEDT, with fans able to catch the performance as it happens right HERE.
• Broken Bells have confirmed via THIS video teaser that they’ll be releasing their new album in January. The band’s eponymous debut premiered at No.20 on the ARIA albums chart back in 2010.
• Following the cancer scare that saw the release of her album ‘Give The People What They Want’ put on hold, Sharon Jones has emerged from subsequent surgery and treatment strong and ready to reunite with The Dap Kings for the January release of the new LP. The band will make their triumphant return to the stage with a show in New York, just days after the album’s release here on Friday January 10.
• Bey’s lil’ sis Solange must be doing something right, with confirmation that her forthcoming Falls Festival sideshow in Melbourne has now sold out. She’ll play Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom on January 07 before heading to Sydney for a date at the Metro Theatre the following night.
• Also selling out their Falls sideshows is London Grammar. After adding an extra Melbourne concert to their January schedule, Oyster touring tells us that it too has now sold out in addition to their original Melbourne gig and their Metro Theatre show in Sydney on January 07.
• There’s also plenty of demand for tickets for the upcoming Hunters & Collectors tour, with Frontier Touring adding a second show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre. The band will roll out their catalogue of hits on Saturday April 05, the night following the original date. Tickets are on sale now.
• Nine Inch Nails and Queens Of The Stone Age have announced a co-headlining tour of Australia. Dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Newcastle have been announced, with the tour kicking off at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on March 06. Tickets for all are on sale from Thursday October 24 at 9am local time.
• Due to popular demand, the Screaming Jets have added more dates to their upcoming national tour, confirming shows in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, as well as second and third shows at Newcastle’s Cambridge Hotel. Tickets are on sale now.• A second successive week atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for New Zealand songstress Lorde and her single ‘Royals’. In fact, bar a couple of minor movements, the top ten looks relatively settled this week. Britney’s ‘Work Bitch!’ is on the move, however, bulleting from No.41 to No.13. Kanye West’s ‘Gone’ debuts at No.18.
• And he might not have quite achieved the same level of chart success here, but Justin Timberlake won’t mind one little bit that his ‘The 20/20 Experience 2 Of 2′ has premiered atop the Billboard 200 albums chart. Lil’ Lorde’s album ‘Pure Heroine’ follows up the massive success of ‘Royals’ with a No.3 debut, with further debuts at Nos.5 and 6 from Tyler Farr and Haim respectively.
