• Sony Music has confirmed the local release of the ‘Greatest Hits’ package from British songstress Dido. The double disc release, which is set to feature a new song called ‘NYC’ brings together tracks from ‘Here With Me’ onwards, including her smashing collaboration with Faithless, ‘One Step Too Far’. It’ll drop in Australia on Friday November 22.
• Compilation fans will also be thrilled to know that November 22 is the date the new ‘So Fresh’ edition will hit stores. ‘The Hits Of Summer 2014 + The Best Of 2013’ will, as always, be packed with all the latest, freshest tunes from the Universal, EMI and Sony stables.
• He’s already got ridiculous on ‘The X Factor’ judging panel, now Redfoo is set to turn his ridiculousness up a notch as the master of ceremonies for this year’s MTV European Music Awards. • How lovely are Simple Plan? They didn’t get the chance to perform for their West Australian fans last time they were in the country, so they’ve announced a very special one-off Perth date at Challenge Stadium on December 03. The band is in the country for the Vans Warped Tour and the December 03 date will provide Western Australians the only chance to see them on this visit. Tickets are on sale on Friday October 25 from 9am local time.
• Speaking of the Vans Warped Tour, organisers today unleashed another round of top name talent as part of this year’s line-up. The Amity Affliction and Millencolin join the already announced army of top names, from The Offspring to Simple Plan, Parkway Drive, The Used, Tonight Alive and more. The tour kicks off in Brisbane on Friday November 29.
• It’s been a long time between drinks, but the boys from Cold Chisel are about to whack out a brand new live CD/DVD. ‘The Live Tapes Vol. 1: Hordern Pavilion. April 18, 2012’ is the first in a series of live recordings and is coming out on the band’s recently launched own label. It’ll be made available in double disc, DVD, Blu-Ray and 2CD/DVD editions and will hit stores on Friday November 22.
• Newcastle five piece Seabellies are celebrating the release of their new album ‘Fever Belle’ yesterday with the announcement of a national tour. The lads will kick things off with an appointment with the stage at Brisbane Alhambra Lounge on November 21 before shuttling around the country. Tickets are on sale this Friday.
• Lorde makes it three weeks in a row atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with her smash ‘Royals’ as Miley’s ‘Wrecking Ball’ moves back up one position to No.2. Justin Bieber’s ‘Heartbreaker’ is in a big hurry – moving up from No.77 to No.13, but Britney’s latest single has dropped out of the top 20.
• JT’s out of that top spot after just one week with his ‘The 20/20 Experience 2 Of 2′, giving way to the all-conquering, all-tongue pokin’, all-sledgehammer lickin’ Miley Cyrus and her ‘Bangerz’. ‘Bangerz’ secures top spot this week ahead of a No.2 debut for Panic At The Disco’s ‘Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!’ and Pusha T’s ‘My Name Is My Name’ (No.4). Glee’s ‘The Quarterback’ EP is in at No.7, Korn’s ‘Paradigm Shift’ at No.8, Cassedee Pop’s ‘Frame By Frame’ at No.9 and Mayday Marade’s ‘Monsters In The Closet’ at No.10, with another six new entries between No.11 and No.20.
• And just a super-quick reminder that, as always, our weekly Chart Watch – with news of the happenings in this week’s ARIA top 100s – will be live on the site from 7pm AEDT!

Hey Nic,
Not sure on that one… They’d only be able to do venues at which they’d be guaranteed of selling out. Etihad in Melbourne could probably work; so too ANZ Stadium.
But given there are only three shows in Brisbane on this tour, Suncorp would probably be out of the equation; so too shows in Perth and Adelaide.

Hi, I know nothing has been announced yet but do you think there is any chance One Direction will bring their Where We Are stadium tour to Australia in 2014? I was hoping they might play Etihad Stadium in Melbourne and places like that. Perhaps they will announce something before they leave our shores? Cheers!
