While we’re fully aware of Selena Gomez’ reach via her former Disney life, her chart life down under hasn’t been particularly spectacular… just three of her singles have barely cracked the top 50.
So is Live Nation taking a risk by bringing Selena down under for a series of concerts in larger venues.
The starlet will touch down in Australia in February next year for shows in all five of the main capitals; Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in what will be her first live performances on Australian soil.
“I am having the most incredible time on this tour and am so excited to perform in Asia and Australia for the first time!” Selena said in a statement.
The ‘Stars Dance’ tour is linked in with her current album, which was a top ten ARIA album earlier this year. It showed a far different side to the singer than her previous outings; a more grown-up, mature pop persona.
Tickets for the concerts are on sale on Friday November 22 at 9am local time.
February 01 : Perth (Perth Arena)
February 04 : Adelaide (Entertainment Centre)
February 06 : Brisbane (Convention Centre)
February 07 : Sydney (Entertainment Centre)
February 08 : Melbourne (Rod Laver Arena)

Woah! Did not expect a full arena tour for Selena. Very curious to see how ticket sales go.
