No waiting ’til bloody March for us Aussies, with Kylie Minogue’s new single ‘Into The Blue’ arriving at Australian digital retailers within the last few hours.
Team Kylie has also confirmed for us Aussies that a special physical remix single will be released down under, containing the single, the S Man remix, a Patrick Hagenaar remix and the Vanilla Ace remix. It’s a special 3″ CD cardboard-sleeve single that will fit snugly into the K25 boxset released last year, and will drop on February 14.
The track, which leaked around a week ago, is the lead single from Kylie’s forthcoming 12th studio album ‘Kiss Me Once’, more details of which have emerged for the Australian market.
The new LP, the first via her new management at RocNation, is set to comprise 11 new songs (tracklisting below) and will be released in Australia on Friday March 14, with pre-orders to begin from Valentine’s Day (surely a gift for all the lovers out there).
It’ll be released in both standard and deluxe editions, the latter containing two bonus tracks ‘Mr President’ and ‘Sleeping With The Enemy’.
Kylie has also revealed a super-deluxe box set version via her social media which is… well spectacular.
In the meantime, check out the lyric video, which also went live overnight Australian time.

What’s with the attitude Anonymous? You don’t have to be a jerk about it. Sheesh.

wow, some of these comments are just rude and uncalled for. Some people just need to calm down. Doing an awesome job, auspOp.
As for the publicity, what has happened many, many times that I’ve observed is that publicity material is rolled out progressively. one week, cover image; next week, the lyric video; then the single; later on, the iTunes banners, then the YouTube ads, then the official video, then appearances, etc etc. There’s no hurry when she’s due for weekly appearances in one of the highest rated shows on Australian TV.

Kudos to you guys for maintaining your composure following that ridiculous, unwarranted “anonymous” attack. It’s been obvious right from Day One that you’re a completely independent blog and that you’re in for the love of music, not for the love of any freebies that you (probably never) receive! Rest assured that the rest of us love your work!

Hey Anonymous #7,
What we’re saying is that Warner may not have had access to the parts they needed to get everything organised in time, especially given the UK release is still weeks away. We know full well that with previous Kylie releases, they’ve had all sorts of problems getting parts from the parent company in the UK to get timely releases here in Australia.
Re : The Roc Nation part, we amended that more than 24 hours ago.
And to your suggestion that we’re in it for the freebies, we’ve not once received free tickets from Warner Music Australia in the almost seven years the site has been running – and are serviced albums from them only sparingly and digitally.

I just cannot understand Kylie Minogue’s management and press team.
A couple of years ago she was a guest performer on the British X Factor – anyone who watches that version knows they get the very best guests on their results show each week, best of any show I know. And every week the single is available the next day if not already. Kylie came on and sang the hell out of her latest tune at the time and afterwards was asked by the host when it was out… She awkwardly mumbled “soon.”
It came out 6 weeks later and flopped.
I understand she can’t be everywhere to promote it at the same time but surely the days of staggering a song release over several months are long gone! It’s 2014 not 1994 and very discouraging that her team have learned absolutely nothing. Her pop battle is uphill as it is.

Hi ‘the Auspop team’,
You are incorrect – the local record company could pay for banners if they wished. It’s called advertising. There is nothing stopping the local record company advertising the song. And I think you’ll find that if they paid for advertising, the song would also be featuring in sections like ‘new and noteworthy’ and ‘songs to watch’. At the moment, the song doesn’t even appear in Kylie’s iTunes store – which is a ridiculous situation considering it’s her new single.
Also, you have contradicted yourself. You claim Warner “can’t do anything with the song ’til they have access to it locally”, then in the very next sentence you say they’ve serviced it to media. How can they be servicing it to media if they don’t have access to it? How can they release the song to iTunes if they don’t have access to it? Obviously this blog is not truly independent – you’re making rubbish excuses for her label not having their act together. I guess you’ve gotta look after that supply of free music and tickets, huh?
P.S. ITB was not released via Roc Nation. That is her management company, not her label.

So excited. Love the single and the album looks like it’s going to be awesome!

Hey Anonymous #6,
iTunes only tends to update themselves to show the new releases once a week, so it’s understandable that Kylie hasn’t appeared there yet.
Warner here is at the mercy of the overseas label and can’t do anything with a song ’til they have access to it locally. They serviced it to media on Tuesday – at the same time as it went to digital retail, so while the song’s not charting just yet, its audience (the radio listeners of the country) are only just beginning to hear it.
As mentioned in the story, at least they’re not making you wait ’til March to buy it like in the UK!!

Well there might not be pre-orders yet for KMO but the single isn’t being promoted on iTunes AT ALL. No banners, no ‘new and noteworthy’, no ‘songs to watch’, nothing. For the first 48 hours it wasn’t even showing up in regular iTunes searches. “Maybe later in the week” is hardly good enough for a new Kylie release. Beyond hardcore Kylie fans, few people even know it’s released. If the general public and casual fans don’t know about it, it won’t sell.

Thank you, I did find it after you said where to look!
This site is excellent, keep up the great work

And next to no promotion in Australia. Errggghh. I preordered the vinyl 7 inch single and deluxe album. Very expensive Kylie day.

Hey Anonymous #4,
We’re not sure what day iTunes updates their releases anymore, but perhaps later this week.
There’s no pre-order for the album because (as per the article), pre-orders kick off on Valentines Day.

Why are there no banners for the ‘Into The Blue’ on the Australian iTunes store? And the song doesn’t appear in the ‘new and noteworthy’ section. And it’s not in the ‘songs to watch’ section either. And “Kiss Me Once” doesn’t appear in the ‘pre-order new music section’. I really think she’s going to flop in Australia, sadly. :(

RocNation is her management company, not her record label

First check you’re on the Aussie iTunes store.

Great work, releasing the track on a TUESDAY, half way through the charting week. They should have at least held off until Friday.
