It’s not just in the TV ratings where the INXS series ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ shone last night… the iTunes charts have lit up with the band’s releases.
‘The Very Best’ has hit No.1 on the albums chart in the wake of last night’s show, which was seen by almost two million Aussies. But it’s not just at No.1 where ‘The Very Best’ lies. Right now, other versions of the best-of sit at Nos.6 and 7 on the iTunes chart, with the band’s classic album ‘Kick’ sitting at No.2 and their recently-released ‘Live At Wembley Stadium ’91’ at No.4.
The band’s album ‘The Swing’ is at No.13 and ‘Shabooh Shabooh’ is No.15.
Even on the singles chart, the band is in top 20 action, with the series title track ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ at No.14, followed by ‘Need You Tonight’ (No.33), a second entry for ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ (No.52), ‘Original Sin’ (No.55), ‘New Sensation’ (No.59), ‘By My Side’ (No.64), ‘Beautiful Girl’ (No.65) and ‘Need You Tonight’ again at No.68.
And though not enjoying quite the same impact on the BigPond Music sales chart, ‘The Very Best’ occupies positions three and eight within the top ten.
