There’s no fooling you on this April 1st… It’s the second of our features into each of the entries for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Following on from Emmelie de Forest’s win with ‘Only Teardrops’ last year, we’re off to wonderful Copenhagen for the 2014 edition of the event, which once again will bring colour, kitsch and camp to the people of Europe as they vote on who they think should be the ultimate victor.
In part two, we check out the Belarusian entry, which will appear in the second of the semi finals – on Thursday May 08.
TEO : Cheesecake
Now Teo (real name Yuriy Vaschuk) is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest. Not only did he represent his nation in the 2009 version as part of a duet with Anna Blagova, but he’s also penned tracks that have been featured in the competition throughout the past few years.
‘Cheesecake’ is the latest and there have apparently been comparisons made between the video for it (below) and that of Robin Thicke’s global smash ‘Blurred Lines’. Apart from the fact that Teo’s in a suit and there’s the occasional super, we don’t see it. And there’s no way that ‘Cheesecake’ will be anywhere near the hit ‘Blurred Lines’ was. It’s actually a pretty poor entry and we’re highly doubtful we’ll get a second serve come the Grand Final.
