Success in Australia has been a long time coming for British singer songwriter Gabrielle Aplin. Though her second single ‘Please Don’t Say You Love Me’ was serviced to media in Australia in January last year, it’s her debut – a cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s classic ‘The Power Of Love’, which was released in the UK way back in 2012 – that has Australia belatedly transfixed.
It’s no doubt been helped along its merry chart climb by its use in a high profile TV sync for Channel 7’s upcoming drama ‘Resurrection’, has so far peaked at No.15 on the ARIA charts, but could improve even further on tomorrow night’s charts.
After all this success, it makes complete sense for the songstress to return to our sunny shores (she’s currently here on a promotional visit) in order to perform a couple of headline shows. Which is precisely what she’ll do in late May, with shows announced today for both Sydney and Melbourne.
Frontier pre-sale kicks off at 2pm on Tuesday (March 25), with general public tickets hitting the sales desk from 9am on Friday March 28.
May 31 : Melbourne (The Toff In Town)
June 01 : Sydney (Oxford Art Factory)
