• Aussie pop starlet Samantha Jade last night broke cover (pictured) on her recently announced single ‘Up!’. As revealed recently on the site, the new track was co-penned with Samantha along with LA-based songwriter Zac Poor and producer Mario Marchetti. The single is due on Friday April 11. Still no word on that debut album.
• The Vamps new single ‘Last Night’ is just one of a handful of new tracks making their way to Australian media this week. The British foursome recently hit the charts in Australia with their hit ‘Can We Dance’ and it’s hoped the new single will emulate its predecessor’s chart success when it drops digitally on Friday March 28. There’s also a campaign to get the band to Australia at www.vampsaustralia.com.
• Among the other new tunes out at radioland this week are Papa vs Pretty’s ‘Million Different Ways’, Calvin Harris’ single ‘Summer’ and Jake Bugg’s ‘A Song About Love’. Check out our FACEBOOK page tomorrow for more!
• Afrojack’s album ‘Forget The World’ has been locked into Universal Music’s Aussie schedule for a release in early May. The Dutch EDM superstar’s debut full length release will feature the singles ‘The Spark’ and ‘Ten Feet Tall’ when it appears in your favourite store on Friday May 16.
• Local collective Holidays On Ice will release their new album ‘The Luxury Of Wasted Space’ early next month. It’s the third long player for the band, made up of Angie Hart, Dean Manning and Stella Mozgawa and fans already have a single to call their own (‘Broken’). ‘The Luxury Of Wasted Space’ will hit retailers on Friday April 04.
• Route 94’s single ‘My Love’ has dropped from the UK No.1 spot after just one week, relinquishing the position for Dvbbs & Borgeous with Tinie Tempah and their single ‘Tsunami (Jump)’. Enrique Iglesias’ track ‘I’m A Freak’ debuts in the No.4 spot, with further top ten premieres from Flo Rida (‘How I Feel’ at No.8) and Pixie Lott (‘Nasty’ at No.9). Kylie misses the top ten on debut with her belatedly released single ‘Into The Blue’, which comes in at No.12.
• The new Elbow LP ‘The Take Off And Landing Of Everything’ has premiered atop the British albums chart, with Paloma Faith’s ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ following right behind at No.2. Pharrell’s down to No.3 with one more top ten debut – at No.7 – from Metronomy and their new LP ‘Love Letters’.
