Everything to do with Pharrell Williams’ Australian visit seems to have been timed to perfection.
On the ground for the national Future Music Festival, the star has the No.1 single in the country with ‘Happy’ (which has bounced back to No.1 on iTunes this week) and also looks set to bag the double with a No.1 debut for his just-released album ‘GIRL’ this Saturday night.
There was the Oscars performance over the weekend, an appearance on ‘Sunrise’ this morning and then there’s the question of the two headline shows next week.
Such is his popularity right now that it stands to reason that Frontier Touring Company has been forced into upgrading the venue for the singer’s Brisbane show next Wednesday.
Originally due to hit Marquee in the Queensland capital, the Pharrell show will now move to the larger Riverstage. He’ll be accompanied by both Baauer and DJ Nina Las Vegas, who’ll perform support duties.
Tickets are on sale now.
