While we’ve been patiently counting down to Eurovision, Cher Lloyd has been hammering her social media sites with a countdown to the release of the official video for ‘Sirens’, the lead single proper from her upcoming album ‘Sorry I’m Late’.
While we’ve not been mammoth fans of Cher’s offerings thus far, it has to be said that ‘Sirens’ is an incredibly mature, emotional pop song that shows a massive development in the singer’s career since ‘Sticks & Stones’.
The video too shows real growth; there’s plenty of acting on display from the British starlet as she wrestles between the loyalty to and love for her family and doing the right thing. Clearly trapped in an abusive relationship, Cher’s character clearly yearns for the freedom that’s missing for both her and her daughter. There are even tears. Yes, tears!
