Our countdown to the Eurovision Song Contest continues by the day, with less than a month now before the whole of Europe (and us Aussies too) discover just who’s walked away with ultimate glory in this year’s competition. Ten countries will emerge from each of the semi finals and progress through to the Grand Final on May 10, where they’ll come up against the might of the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain as the perennial “big five”, as well as host nation Denmark.
TWIN TWIN : Moustache
The French can take a little breather through the semi finals as they patiently wait their turn for the Grand Final, where they’ll be competing again 25 other countries for the top prize. Pop dance trio Twin Twin have been chosen to represent their country this year with a track that while predominantly in their native tongue, does contain a smidgen of English and a smidgen of Spanish, no doubt in the hope of garnering extra votes across the continent.
‘Moustache’ is a bright, uptempo dance/pop number that will no doubt win fans with its repetitive, catchy chorus and super-kitsch video clip in which lead singer Lorent wants to win the ultimate game show prize of… a moustache. It’s bonkers enough to be here, so let’s see how it fares.
