The Eurovision Song Contest is once again almost upon us. In just over a month’s time, the eyes of Europe will be focused on the Danish capital Copenhagen for the 59th annual competition, where all of Europe gets to decide who’s the fairest of them all.
Hungary will get their chance to shine in front of the continent as the final act in the first semi final on Tuesday May 06 and will hope to do enough to make it through to the Grand Final on May 10.
ANDRÁS KÁLLAY-SAUNDERS : Running
Performing simply under Kállay-Sunders, András is no stranger to the spotlight, having placed fourth during Hungary’s national singing competition ‘Megasztár’ back in 2011. He went on to sign a record contract, hit the charts on a few occasions and was then subsequently bitten by the Eurovision bug. He entered the national selection for last year’s competition but failed to advance. In 2014, however, he gets his chance to shine in front of the rest of Europe.
And with ‘Running’, shine he will. It’s an incredibly polished piece of pop with universal appeal that bubbles along with up-to-the-minute production. His vocals are soft and emotive as he shines the light on the subject of domestic violence. A sad subject matter, yes, but we have no doubt we’ll be seeing ‘Running’ doing big business in the voting at the Grand Final on May 10.
