The countdown is on ’til the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. To be held this year in Copenhagen, Denmark, the competition is celebrating its 59th year and will once again bring Europe together in a celebration of song, dance, key changes, drinking games and musical oddities. The first of the semi finals takes place on Tuesday May 06, with Moldova as one of the countries participating. Do they have what it takes to make it through to the all-important Grand Final on May 10? Cristina Scarlat certainly hopes so.
CRISTINA SCARLAT : Wild Soul
At 33 years of age, Cristina is almost a veteran of the music industry in her home country. She possesses what’s been described as one of the greatest voices in her country and clearly loves the Eurovision Song Contest, attempting to qualify for her home country twice prior to this year. It’s a case of third time lucky in 2014, however, as she sets out to dominate the rest of Europe with her ‘Wild Soul’. The song is dark, dramatic and alluring and Cristina makes use of virtually every section of her impressive register. This, of course, means there are plenty of money notes (a drink for each) and there’s even a key change (another drink), ensuring that if you’re playing said drinking games, you’ll be well on your way to being hammered by the end of this very track. It’s SO Eurovision, but it might have a fight on its hands to make it through to the Grand Final.
