Acclaimed singer songwriter David Gray will release his tenth studio album ‘Mutineers’ in June.
The LP is the singer’s first in four years and comes more than 20 years since his debut release ‘A Century Ends’. And though those early LPs might not have achieved the kind of success any artist craves, it was with his celebrated 1998 album ‘White Ladder’ that David truly hit his strides. The album became an instant classic, hitting No.1 in his native UK and going on to sell more than nine times platinum in Britain alone.
In giving us a hint of what to expect from the new album, David says, “I got slightly away from the narrative of the kind of crucified middle aged man. I got into other more ethereal territory, and it was such a relief to me. And when these wide open vistas of the new sound began to emerge in front of my eyes, I rushed in.”
‘Mutineers’ will be released in Australia on Friday June 20.
