Australia has fallen in love (albeit belatedly) with British starlet Gabrielle Aplin, whose cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s classic ‘The Power Of Love’ has woven its way into our hearts – and onto our charts – primarily through its use in a high profile TV synch.
Though the single was released back in 2012 in the UK, it’s only recently shone here in Australia, spending seven weeks on the ARIA singles chart thus far, notching up a gold sales accreditation (35,000 copies) in the process.
But such is our blossoming relationship with Ms Aplin that her recently announced headline shows in both Sydney and Melbourne have completely sold out.
And with demand for tickets still high, organisers of the Heavenly Sounds series have this morning confirmed that they’ve snared the services of the singer for two very special performances during her visit.
Gabrielle will now play Sydney’s St.Stephen’s Uniting Church on Monday June 02 and Brisbane’s St.John’s Cathedral on Tuesday June 03. Heavenly Sounds members will have access to a pre-sale from 10am this Wednesday before general public tickets go live from 10am on Tuesday April 22.
