Melbourne performer Omar Dean was a fan favourite on last year’s edition of ‘The X Factor’, making it all the way to the top six in the popular reality TV competition.
But he’s certainly not been idle since the show wrapped last year, immediately getting to work on what will form his debut single. He’s also a perfectionist, with his management informing us that, although demos are in the works, Omar won’t be releasing any new tunes ’til “he’s 100% happy”.
In the meantime, however, he’s just been revealed as a new Online Crisis Chat Ambassador for Lifeline, lending his support to the worthwhile cause that aims to reach out to youth in crisis.
“I know all too well the impact depression and feelings of despair can have on a person, especially young people,” Omar said in a statement. “I’ve been through it, I’ve lived it and it can be hard to reach out for help, especially if you feel stressed or confused but it’s so important to seek help.”
