Great news from the team at Inertia this afternoon, with confirming that the just-announced collaboration between Norwegian outfit Röyksopp and Swedish superstar Robyn will get a release in Australia.
The new mini album is entitled ‘Do It Again’ and although it only comprises five tracks (including the lead single and title track, along with ‘Say It’), it’ll run for 30 minutes and once again sees the Scandinavian pop supremos teaming their pop powers after doing so on the spectacular 2009 single ‘Girl & The Robot’, as well as the 2010 track ‘None Of Dem’.
“This doesn’t sound like Röyksopp featuring Robyn or Robyn produced by Röyksopp, it’s just something else entirely,” the Röyksopp boys said in a statement. “The word ‘collaboration’ has never before been more justified in the world of music! This mini-album is the accumulation and embodiment of the synergy between Robyn and ourselves. It’s meant to be an expression where pop & art reign side by side.”
“In the beginning we just knew we wanted to do something together,” Robyn continues. “And then it started to feel more like a band thing than songs for a Röyksopp or Robyn album so we´re releasing this music together as a band you could say.”
Take a listen to a snippet of album opener ‘Monument’ below.
Lead single ‘Do It Again’ drops digitally on April 24. ‘Say It’ drops on May 19, followed by the mini-album itself on Friday May 23.
