You’ve got to hand it to 2013 ‘X Factor’ finalist Joelle Hadjia. Released entirely independently, she’s seen her debut single ‘Save Me’ rocketing into the upper reaches of the iTunes chart here in Australia, where it’s been as high as No.22 and remains firmly within the top 40.
In a statement celebrating its release, Joelle says that ‘Save Me’ holds very special meaning.
“It isn’t just important to me because its my debut single, its also my story as to how I developed into the individual I am today,” she says. “I have been through so many experiences like every girl, and I wanted to take a stand and speak up on behalf of all females who have felt hurt from relationships.
“I want to inspire young girls to take responsibility for their own happiness and not be afraid to walk away when they have exhausted all options in trying to hold on.”
Given the initial burst of interest in the song itself, which has the support of her mentor from the show Redfoo, there’s bound to be interest from management companies from across the country keen to sign her up.
The release of the official video is imminent.

I really hope this gets the local support it deserves. The music video is out by the way.
