Settle down please. Two of the sauciest ladies in pop are teaming up for a co-headlining tour that is set to swing by Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth in the middle of next month.
Janelle Monae rose to prominence via her 2010 album ‘The ArchAndroid’ and then captivated us all again last year via her album ‘The Electric Lady’.
Kimbra cut her musical teeth via singles ‘Settle Down’ and ‘Cameo Lover’, before teaming up with Gotye on his international mega-hit ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ and releasing her platinum selling debut album ‘Vows’.
But it was a chance meeting between the pair at the Montreux Jazz Festival in the middle of last year that sparked an unlikely friendship and a keen desire on both their parts to take part in a co-headline tour.
The ‘Golden Electric’ Tour will kick off at Perth’s Challenge Stadium on Friday May 16 before visiting Sydney and Brisbane. It’ll then cross the ditch for a show at Auckland’s Vector Arena before returning to our shores for a Melbourne date on May 26.
Live Nation pre-sale kicks off from 10am on Monday April 14, with general public tickets on sale from 10am on Thursday April 17.
May 16 : Perth (Challenge Stadium)
May 19 : Sydney (Hordern Pavilion)
