Though the name ‘Undercolours’ might not be too familiar to most Australians – just yet – it’s incredibly familiar to one British pop superstar by the name of Robert Peter Williams, who employed the services of the Melbourne-based duo to co-pen his previous album ‘Take The Crown’.
With a No.1 album under their belts, the duo is now completely refocused on creating their own catalogue of hits and it all begins here with their breakout single ‘I’m Not Sorry’.
Though the single is a little more organic than the big and brash pop of Mr Williams’ catalogue, it’s sure to find its own audience and is a shoo-in for some Triple J loving. The subtle use of percussion combines beautifully with the indie-pop-leaning vocals and its a track that, while not necessarily instant, hooks you in with each listen.
An EP from the band is due later in the year.
