Though it’s not an official Eurovision single, nor did Jessica Mauboy have the chance to compete against the best from around Europe in last night’s second semi final at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, she seemingly did us proud with her performance of ‘Sea Of Flags’.
Though much of the Australian section of last night’s performance was a little cringe-worthy (how about those stereotypes!?), Jess came into her own in front of a huge audience at the city’s B&W Hallerne and an anticipated 18 million watching from across Europe.
Reports suggest Jess was in the top ten most tweeted topics in the UK after her performance; the first time a solo artist from a non-European country has been invited to perform at the event. So a bit of a big deal.
Naturally, her label Sony has capitalised on the singer’s performance, immediately releasing ‘Sea Of Flags’ to both media and digital retail this morning.
A TV show documenting Jess’ journey to Eurovision will screen on SBS tomorrow night at 7:30pm, immediately before the screening of the second semi final.

Loved the dress Jess was wearing. Her performance was average. The vocals were shaky. She should’ve just performed a medley of her hits. Her past singles are much better than Sea of Flags and it’s a shame Europe didn’t get to hear them.
