Though we’ve not heard anything from the team at Warner Music thus far about the new Christina Parie project, we have to give the label major credit for sticking by the songstress and allowing her to develop her artistry for the three years following her ‘X Factor’ appearance.
You might remember that Christina was a finalist in the third season of the show back in 2011, signing to Warner after the show and going on to release a debut EP called ’16 & Unstoppable’.
Two years on and Christina is back as KYA, with a brand new single ‘What I Live For’ in the offing. She’s barely recognisable from the fresh-faced 16 year old who appeared on the show; the nerves are gone, as is the streak of colour in her hair and the slightly angsty Avril-esque rock sound.
In their place are a seriously stylish young woman wielding a drum’n’bass/pop sound which still infuses rock elements. It’s all very impressive.
