This new video for Kylie’s latest single ‘I Was Gonna Cancel’ sure has the peeps talking in the comments section. Filmed in Melbourne, the concept was previewed via Kylie’s performance of the song at the recent Logie Awards. It’s the third video for the ‘Kiss Me Once’ album project after ‘Into The Blue’ and ‘Sexercise’, but it’s clearly the most polarising yet.
Kylie describes the clip as “an abstract look at pedestrian life and how we’re all just trying to get through and rise above everyday challenges.”
And there are many pedestrians here; in fact there’s a fair number of cowboys in the midst of this pedestrian traffic, along with a tiny glimpse of the familiar red tail of an overhead Qantas aircraft.
It’s not our favourite Kylie clip of all time, let’s just say. What are YOUR thoughts!? Let us know in the comments section below.

I am surprised at so much hate going Kylie’s way for this video. Yes, I miss her old approach to videos being mini plots or having a concept, but I do love how she is fully clothed in this, along with hand dancing! Shame they didn’t follow the idea of using the ‘Stylist’ magazine photoshoot for the single cover to the video, those shots would look ace in a video clip. I’d rather this video than ‘sexercise’. Note to artists, if your label has minimal funds for videos, make them on the sets of photo fashion shoots! Or start trusting up and coming video directors who have ideas worth exploring.

And they thought this would help sell an underwhelming song?
I am a mega Kylie fan but this is a new low.

I actually like the video and the song – it’s different and a bit experimental for Kylie.

This is a failure! I’m not a fan of the song and I am now definitely not a fan of the video. I agree with the above comment, this song NEEDED a much better video. This is actually a horrible effort.
The standard of Kylie’s videos have really hit a low point. I haven’t liked any of her music videos from “Kiss Me Once”. It’s such a shame, because she’s always had amazing videos!
Also, I listened to “Golden Boy” …why wasn’t this on the album?!?! It’s better than most of what’s on “Kiss Me Once”. I just can’t understand her this era.
It’s a mess.

Was hoping this wouldn’t get posted – the quicker it just goes away and is forgotten the better! Let’s hope Kylie and record company agree to release another single. So many great tracks on Kiss Me Once. This is an album track for me, shouldn’t have been released, and this video definitely shouldn’t have been released :)

She looks fantastic and the pedestrian theme isn’t bad, it’s just executed in a really dull way.
It’s an unspectacular song that really needs a spectacular clip to lift proceedings. This isn’t it.
Still love you, Kylie. Move on quickly and release Sexy Love.
