• The new 5 Seconds Of Summer single ‘Don’t Stop’ is now impacting Australian media ahead of its release this Friday. The standalone single will drop on Friday, with the EP of the same name ready to impact on Sunday June 15.
• Among the other new tracks hoping to make an impact on your local radio network this week are the Matt Cardle/Melanie C duet ‘Loving You’, two versions of Michael Jackson’s ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ (with and without Justin Timberlake), the new J-Lo single ‘First Love’ and Usher’s ‘Good Kisser’. • UK DJ Gareth Emery is obviously doing something right down under, selling out both his Sydney and Melbourne appearances in July. The tour was announced only last week, but demand has been so high that tickets remain only for the shows in Brisbane, Perth and on the Gold Coast.
• More details have emerged about Jennifer Lopez’ upcoming album ‘A.K.A’. To be released next month, the list of collaborators on the new LP continues to grow, with Pitbull, T.I, Iggly Azalea, Sia, Chris Brown, Tyga and Chantal named alongside the previously revealed Robin Thicke, Maxwell, French Montana and Big Sean. “In my career I have always made music that is a reflection of me… and where I am in my life… I do what I feel …and do things that feel authentic to me,” the singer said in a statement about the new LP. “I am a lot of different things and I do a lot of different things. I love hip hop, pop, dance Music and R&B. And on this, my tenth album release, I have created a collection of songs that make me feel good and make me feel happy.” ‘A.K.A’ will be released in Australia on Friday June 20.
• ‘Summer’ has come early for the Brits, with Calvin Harris’ new single premiering atop this week’s British singles chart. Dutch performer Mr Probz only drops by one spot, with no other premieres in this week’s top ten. The closest debut on this week’s UK singles chart was down at No.27 – Michael Jackson’s new single ‘Love Never Felt So Good’. And with the first of the Eurovision finals just wrapping up in Copenhagen, Molly’s UK entry ‘Children Of The Universe’ rockets from No.179 to No.48.
• It’s three weeks on the trot for Paolo Nutini’s latest album ‘Caustic Love’, which holds off some strong competition from both Damon Albarn and Imelda May (who debut at Nos.2 and 3 respectively), to maintain its No.1 heading on the UK albums chart. Embrace’s self-titled set is in at No.5, Pixies’ ‘Indie Cindy’ debuts at No.6 and Blur’s classic ‘Parklife’ re-emerges at No.24.
