The dynamic pop combination of Kimbra and Janelle Monae has proven too hard to resist for the good people of Melbourne, with demand for tickets for the songstresses’ upcoming show at the city’s Plenary forcing the team at Live Nation to add a second date in the city – at the Forum Theatre.
But there’s also a change of venue in Sydney, with the May 19 concert shifting from Hordern Pavilion to the iconic Opera House.
A chance meeting between Janelle and Kimbra at the Montreux Jazz Festival in the middle of last year sparked an unlikely friendship and a keen desire on both their parts to take part in a co-headline tour.
They’ll each perform a 45 minute headlining set before the two combine for a joint set towards the end of the show.
Tickets for the new Melbourne show are on Live Nation pre-sale from 10am on Monday, with general public tickets on sale at midday on Wednesday May 07.
