Well by now you’re aware that Sam Smith has a top ten hit on his hands with his debut album ‘In The Lonely Hour’ (cover above). Not only is the breakout (and much hyped) release a top ten hit, but it premiered at No.2 on this week’s ARIA albums chart, revealed earlier tonight.
Beyond that, of course, there’s also the small matter of his current single ‘Stay With Me’, which is also still top ten and has achieved a gold accreditation for sales in excess of 35,000 copies.
All this on the back of his nod as one of the hottest new acts of 2014, the award for BBC’s ‘Sound Of 2014’ and the Critic’s Choice prize at the Brit Awards. Yep, it’s shaping up to be a pretty amazing year for the British singer, who’s once or twice been dubbed the male Emeli Sandé.
Amazingly, thanks to the gang at EMI, we offered up a handful of copies of the new LP last Friday and we’re here tonight to let you know just who’d picked up this week’s goodies. It’s a hearty congratulations to;
Kaya from Ocean Grove in Victoria, Pauline from Echuca in Victoria, Steve from McKinnon in Victoria, Andrew from Chippendale in New South Wales and Xanthe from Clearview in South Australia.
Congratulations ladies and gents! A copy of the new Sam Smith album ‘In The Lonely Hour’ will be headed to yours most soon. And thanks as always to all who entered the competition… more on the way most soon!
