Brisbane band Sheppard hit the big time earlier this year with their single ‘Geronimo’.
The track reached No.1 on the ARIA singles chart on April 20 and stayed there for a further two weeks. It’s still in the top ten now, has achieved an impressive almost-triple platinum accreditation (sales closing in on 210,000 copies) and is currently the highest selling Australian single of 2014.
Add to that the band’s recent signing to Decca for the world outside Australia and being granted the coveted support role on the Keith Urban tour and it’s easy to see why Sheppard is so hot right now.
So they’ve decided to strike while the iron’s hot, today announcing the release of their debut long player ‘Bombs Away’.
The album (cover image above) contains 11 recordings, including ‘Geronimo’ and previous (almost double platinum) single ‘Let Me Down Easy’.
It’ll be made available digitally, on CD and, via the band’s own store, on 12″ vinyl.
‘Bombs Away’ drops on Friday July 11.
